Comhairle na nÓg Coordinators and Local Authority Representatives from across Ireland came together at the Midlands Park Hotel for the Annual Comhairle na nÓg Organisers’ Event 2026.

The event provided an opportunity for representatives involved in supporting Comhairle na nÓg to share experiences, exchange ideas and learn from good practice. Through a programme of presentations, workshops and networking, attendees explored ways to continue strengthening youth participation across all 31 Comhairlí na nÓg.

A key highlight of the event was the launch of the third edition of the Comhairle na nÓg Toolkit, developed by the Department of Children, Disability and Equality (DCDE). The toolkit was officially launched by Bairbre Meaney, Principal Officer, Play, Participation and Recreation Unit, DCDE.

The updated toolkit is a practical resource for those involved in organising, running and managing Comhairle na nÓg. It provides guidance and support to help coordinators and local authority representatives strengthen the work of their local youth councils and support meaningful youth participation.

The third edition of the toolkit will be available on the Comhairle na nÓg website shortly.
