Donegal Comhairle na nÓg is inviting young people across the county to get involved and put themselves forward to represent their peers.

Donegal Comhairle na nÓg, also known as Donegal Youth Council, provides a platform for young people in Donegal to have their voices heard on issues that affect them. Representatives are elected through schools, youth services and organisations across the county and serve a two-year term. Elections are held in participating schools and youth services, giving young people the opportunity to vote for the person they would like to represent them.

Young people aged 12 to 17 who attend a school or youth service in Donegal can put themselves forward for election by speaking to their link teacher or support worker. The 2026 Election Booklet contains more information about Donegal Comhairle na nÓg, what being a member involves, the election process and guidance for young people interested in becoming a candidate.

The booklet is available to download in English and Irish below.
