On 29 July, four members from each of Dublin’s Comhairlí na nÓg came together to prepare for an upcoming meeting with the Greek Ambassador to Ireland, which will take place on 15 September at Dublin City Hall.

As Dublin is twinned with Greece during Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the four Comhairlí are working in partnership to develop a presentation highlighting the importance of youth participation in decision-making.

During the meeting, members agreed on a number of key priorities for their presentation. These include promoting the role and impact of Comhairle na nÓg, encouraging greater youth and civic participation at an EU level, and strengthening collaboration with Greece throughout the remainder of Ireland’s EU Presidency. The aim is to demonstrate how meaningful youth participation can help shape policy and ensure young people’s voices are heard in contemporary politics.

The presentation will focus on the themes of youth, innovation and diversity, and security, reflecting shared priorities for the future of Europe.
