Hi there, my name is Aadila, and I’m proud to represent the Foróige NEXUS Project at the National Youth Assembly 2025/2026.

I joined the National Youth Assembly because I wanted to make sure young people’s voices are genuinely heard in the decisions that shape our future. Having moved to Ireland and become involved in youth leadership, volunteering, and STEM, I’ve seen how important it is for young people from all backgrounds and communities to have a seat at the table.

So far, I’ve been most passionate about the Rural Assembly. It gave me the opportunity to contribute to conversations that matter and work alongside other young people who are equally committed to creating positive change.

Being part of the Assembly has helped me grow in so many ways. I’ve developed my communication and leadership skills, become more confident speaking up, and learned the importance of listening to different perspectives. Working with young people from across Ireland has shown me just how valuable it is to bring together different experiences and ideas to find solutions.

One of the best parts of the Assembly has been the friendships and connections I’ve made. I’ve met so many inspiring people who are passionate about making a difference, and I know many of these friendships will last a lifetime.

I truly believe the National Youth Assembly is making a difference because it gives young people a genuine platform to share their experiences, ideas, and concerns directly with the people who can influence change. It shows that young people’s voices are not only being heard, but are also being listened to.

If I could give one piece of advice to anyone thinking about joining the Assembly, it would be this: don’t worry if you’re nervous or feel like you don’t have all the answers. Be yourself, speak up, and share your ideas. At the same time, take every opportunity to listen and learn from others. The Assembly is an incredible experience where you’ll grow in confidence, make lifelong friendships, and have the chance to make a real difference. Make the most of every moment—you’ll leave with so much more than you expected.
