2025 marked a significant year for the National Youth Assembly of Ireland, with young people from across the country coming together to shape the national conversation on youth online health and digital wellbeing. The Assembly provided a vital platform for young people to share their lived experiences and priorities in creating safer, healthier online spaces.

The National Youth Assembly on Youth Online Health, held in July 2025, brought together delegates from 21 counties, representing youth organisations and Comhairle na nÓg, to engage directly with policymakers and members of the Online Health Taskforce. Through a series of interactive workshops and discussions, young people developed clear, evidence-informed recommendations across six key themes: regulation, age restrictions, artificial intelligence, body image, healthy online spaces, and language that works.

The report captures the depth of insight and leadership shown by delegates, highlights the key themes and recommendations emerging from the Assembly, and demonstrates how young people’s voices are informing the Taskforce’s work on a public health response to online harms. It also reinforces the central role of youth participation in shaping policy that affects their lives.
